'L2' LITTER Whelped March 28th, 2020 Ready for pickup starting May 16th 9 puppies - 5 males & 4 females All puppies have been placed.
This is a repeat breeding from last summer that produced a very small litter. We really like the pairing between these two and decided to give it another try.
SIRE: BONE POINT'S BOZ - "Boomer"
NAVHDA NA: 105/II NAVHDA UT: 160/III @ 2 yrs 4 mo VHDF HAE: 70 pts (100%) HEIGHT: 24" WEIGHT: 55 lbs DOB: 4/30/2017 COAT: black roan, dense/medium harsh BITE & EYES: normal HIPS: PennHIP L 0.23 R 0.28, 90th % THYROID: OFA Normal (MSU)
Boomer is an incredibly talented young male that we are very excited about. His drive, run, ground-speed, and style are as good as I have seen in any dog in the German Wirehaired Pointer breed. His exceptional drive is equally impressive on land and water. Boomer is a very tough, confident dog that can take heavy training pressure at an early age. He also possesses a very strong pointing instinct. Boomer loves the retrieving from the water. He is a smaller male, and is very athletic and light on his feet. He is a very affectionate house dog for owners Jeff and Sue Quinn of Pendleton, Oregon. Boomer scored a maximum 70 pts in the VHDF HAE with an 11 in search. He also received a prize III in the NAVHDA UT test at 2 years old, with obedience and trained parts of the test keeping him from a prize I. He is certainly doesn't lack talent, though. I think he would have also made a horseback field trial dog, had we chosen to go that route. Most importantly, he has been a great companion and hunting dog that just doesn't have any quit in him. We are very excited to see this young prodigy's first litters develop.
DAM: BONE POINT'S WILDE - "Hilde"
NAVHDA NA: 112/I NAVHDA UT: 204/I @ 3 yrs HEIGHT: 24" WEIGHT: 58 lbs COAT: liver roan, medium dense/medium harsh BITE & EYES: normal HIPS: OFA Excellent THYROID: OFA Normal
Hilde (background), and her dam Lola (foreground) --------
Jim, Lola (Hilde's dam), and Hilde after a successful Mearns hunt in Arizona. Hilde is a 3rd generation Bone Point wirehair owned by good friends Jim and Pat Pease of Bend, OR. Jim owned and trained Hilde's granddam Frida (Bone Point's Dark Star NA I, UT I), Hilde's dam Lola (Bone Point's Indigo NA I, UT II), and Hilde, too. All three females have been exceptional hunting dogs, house dogs, and successful in testing, too. Jim hunts hard from October to February from Oregon, to South Dakota, and Arizona and his dogs spend more days in the field in a year than many will see in a lifetime. Hilde was Jim's pick from Lola's last litter and she has turned out to be a fantastic dog. Hilde is a great bird finder, is honest on point, and is a natural backer that works hard at a medium gun range, typically 200-300 yards in open country. She scored a maximum score in the NAVHDA natural ability test, and a maximum score in the utility test on her first attempt as a 2 year old. Hilde is a very calm, sweet dog that lives in the house when she is not hunting.

DAM: BONE POINT'S KENAI - "Tater"
NAVHDA NA: 112/I NAVHDA UT: 186/II @ 4 yrs VHDF AHAE: 144 HEIGHT: 23" WEIGHT: 56 lbs DOB: 2-24-2011 COAT: black ticked, dense/ med harsh BITE & EYES: normal HIPS: OFA Excellent THYROID: OFA Normal
Tater is hard-nosed dog with no quit in her. Her desire for game is off the charts and she is as tough as they come. Her field search is both aggressive and relentless and she will cover as much ground as you will let her. Finding birds is her top priority. Tater loves duck hunting and she is a very strong water dog that is impervious to harsh weather. When training for the duck search, you simply take Tater to a lake or marsh and just let her go. She will shred a marsh for a duck and she will not come back without it. Like her dam and grand-dam, Tater is a very strong waterfowl dog and was born with a '4' duck search. Tater's back right knee has been blown out twice due to injury, and surgically repaired, yet she refuses to let that slow her down on the chukar hills. She has that extra level of toughness and grit that excels when the conditions get tough - she just won't let you down. Tater has an outstanding nose and a very intense point. She can take heavy training pressure at an early age and she is the type of dog that is best suited for an experienced handler due to her level of desire, independence, and toughness. Tater scored a maximum 112 in her NAVHDA natural ability test. In fact, all 7 puppies in her litter were tested and all received prize Is with an average score over 110 pts. Tater also ran in the VHDF Advanced Hunting Aptitude (AHAE) where she performed very well in the ability subjects, where she scored 10s in Field Search, Pointing, Blind Water Entry, Search Behind Duck, and Nose. Tater also scored a 186/II in the NAVHDA utility test, only missing a prize I due to steadiness in the field. Like most of our dogs, even though Tater is a high powered hunting dog, she is still a very calm, affectionate dog around the house. She is a wonderful family companion that is great with our children and with other dogs. Tater's three previous litters have all earned NAVHDA Breeder Awards with 18 puppies averaging 106 points. Three of her offspring have also passed the utility test with two prize Is and a prize II. One male received a UT prize I at 18 months old.

THREE DEVILS PORTER
VHDF HAE: 69 pts VHDF AHAE: 160 pts DOB: 5/8/2011 HEIGHT: 25" WEIGHT: 64 lbs COAT: medium length, liver roan, med dense/ med harsh BITE & EYES: normal HIPS: PENNhip L.31 R.28 THYROID: OFA Normal
Porter is an excellent all-around versatile hunting dog, owned by Tom Segal of Ontario, OR. I have hunted over Porter multiple times and have been impressed with him both as a hunting dog, and his temperament. Porter is a medium range dog in the field that stretches out a couple hundred yards in chukar country. He has an excellent nose, a very strong point and he handles his birds with caution. He works head-high and has very good style and intensity on point. Porter is a strong retriever on land and water, with excellent water drive, scoring maximum 10s in water in all three of his VHDF tests. Porter has a calm demeanor around the house, and he is great with Tom's young children and other dogs. He has a sound temperament and has handled training with ease.
DAM: BONE POINT'S CHINOOK - "Bay"
NAVHDA NA: 112/I NAVHDA UT: Fall of 2020@ 3 yrs HEIGHT: 24" WEIGHT: 55 lbs COAT: black roan, dense/harsh BITE & EYES: normal HIPS: OFA Good THYROID: OFA Normal
Bay is our latest breeding female to make the breeding team, and she has quickly earned her way as our top house dog. Her strongest attributes are her nose, strong point, bird finding & handling abilities, and her strong willingness to please. As a 2 year old, she has really put it all together this year and has been our top producing chukar dog the last half of the 2019/2020 hunting season. She has also been a natural in the duck blind, not hesitating to pound the pond or Columbia River to retrieve a downed duck. Bay's calm demeanor and incredibly cooperative attitude make her a dog that almost anyone could train, which is how our 'then-8-year-old-son' taught her to 'sit' and 'shake' in just a couple of lessons as young puppy. She is a dream in the house and has an excellent temperament around people, kids, and other dogs.

DAM: BONE POINT'S MARLEY
NAVHDA NA: 112/I NAVHDA UT: 162/III @ 3 yrs HEIGHT: 24.5" WEIGHT: 58 lbs COAT: liver roan, medium dense/medium harsh BITE & EYES: normal HIPS: PENNhip R.26 L.26, 90th percentile THYROID: OFA Normal
Harley is one of our nicest hunting dogs. She is virtually a clone of her dam, Allie, who was one of our favorite all-time wirehairs - as both an amazing hunting dog and family companion. Harley has the same aggressive, hard driving search of her dam. She is a fast, stylish dog in the field. She has loved water from very early on and is a very natural retriever. Whether it is in the field or water, she has an extra gear that most dogs just don't have. She simply wants to find birds a little more and is willing to run a little farther, or dig a little deeper to produce them. As high-powered as Harley is as a hunting dog, you would never know it around the house. Her dam was the same way. She is very affectionate and she is a great family dog inside the house. She is also a very cooperative dog that wants to please. Harley is out of one of our most successful breedings out of Luke and Allie. This cross really combined to bring out the best of both parents in their offspring. Luke is owned by Jeff Funke of Three Devils kennel and he has produced several very talented dogs. Seven of Harley's previous puppies have been NAVHDA Natural Ability tested, scoring an average of 105.5 points. One son also received a utility prize I at 2.8 years old.
