This will be Ziva's last litter. This pairing between Blitz and Ziva is a tight linebreeding on Lager v den drei Tufeln. Luke is one of the breed's top producing sires, and has consistently produced exceptional quality offspring. We expect very strong, well-rounded versatile dogs from this breeding with calm, sound nerves, medium range in the field, strong abilities in the water, very good coat and conformation, and trainable dogs that are capable of excelling at any task they are given.

Blitz is a very talented male owned by Mike Boren of Boise, Idaho, and bred by Jeff Funke. He excels as a personal hunting dog for Mike, and he has also put up top scores in VHDF testing for Jeff. An addition to being a talented hunting dog with a very nice coat and conformation, it is probably his mental wiring that is one of his most impressive attributes. He has an excellent "OFF" switch around the house and is one of the most mellow, friendliest dogs you will ever meet. He was very well mannered when we let him in our house and he is very people-oriented and he gets along great with other dogs. Last year I watched two of his offspring run in VHDF and both were talented, high-drive hunting dogs that we are looking for in our breeding program. Blitz has sound breeding behind him that has worked well for us in the past, and we expect similar results from this breeding.

Ziva is one of the best hunting dogs that we have ever owned. She is a very driven, determined dog that developed very early as both an upland and waterfowl hunting dog. During Ziva's first hunting season, at only 8 to 10 month old, she had one of the of the most productive hunting seasons of any young dog we have ever owned. She would search out independently several hundred yards for chukars and huns and hold point for several minutes until we caught up with her. Ziva also retrieved over 100 ducks and geese during her first hunting season, including several limits on the Columbia River in December in tough winter conditions. During the 2015 duck opener, Ziva was the lone dog in the duck blind and retrieved 40 ducks by herself, hammering the water on every retrieve. Ziva is equally impressive on upland and waterfowl, and she performs both at a very high level. She is also one of the most durable hunting dogs we have owned. You can hunt her on chukars on multiple days in a row and she never gets sore feet or breaks down, which is a rare trait in our steep, rocky country. She has earned the nickname "The Beast" for a reason - you just can't break this dog down.

Ziva has a very confident temperament and takes heavy training pressure in stride. She does great with other dogs and our three young children. For such a hard charging hunting dog, Ziva also does a great job of coming into the house and calmly laying on her bed. She is truly the total package dog. He coat is dense and harsh.

Ziva is from a very successful breeding where all 7 puppies were NAVHDA natural ability tested and all 7 received prize Is with an average score over 110 points. Ziva scored a 108/I in the NAVHDA natural ability test and 182/II in the NAVHDA utility test as a 3 year old, only missing a prize I due to steadiness in the field. Ziva is a very high drive dog that hunts the field with a very aggressive search, and her duck search and water work show the same level of incredible desire. She is one of those dogs that is an "automatic 4" in the duck search and she takes a flying leap into the water on the send.

Ziva's previous two litters have received NAVHDA Natural Ability Awards with 14 puppies scoring an average of 104.5 points. To date, four of her offspring have passed the UT test with one prize I and two prize IIs, all testing from 1.5 and 2.6 years old. One of her sons also passed the NAVHDA invitational with a maximum 200 points at the tender age of 2.6 years old.

This breeding uses some frozen semen that we have been wanting to use for a long time. Digger was an incredibly talented dog from two exceptional national field champion parents, and he he also had two littermates that also finished as AKC Field Champions. Digger was the sire of our first breeding wirehair, Elkhorn's Hi-Rollin Bailey, who was an outstanding dog. We expect the pairing of Digger and Tater to produce some very powerful, big running, independent dogs that will be best suited to experienced handlers, AKC field trialers, and avid chukar hunters.

Tater is hard-nosed dog with no quit in her. Her desire for game is off the charts and she is as tough as they come. Her field search is both aggressive and relentless and she will cover as much ground as you will let her. Finding birds is her top priority. Tater loves duck hunting and she is a very strong water dog that is impervious to harsh weather. When training for the duck search, you simply take Tater to a lake or marsh and just let her go. She will shred a marsh for a duck and she will not come back without it. Like her dam and grand-dam, Tater is a very strong waterfowl dog and was born with a '4' duck search. Tater's back right knee has been blown out twice due to injury, and surgically repaired, yet she refuses to let that slow her down on the chukar hills. She has that extra level of toughness and grit that excels when the conditions get tough - she just won't let you down.

Tater has an outstanding nose and a very intense point. She can take heavy training pressure at an early age and she is the type of dog that is best suited for an experienced handler due to her level of desire, independence, and toughness.

Tater scored a maximum 112 in her NAVHDA natural ability test. In fact, all 7 puppies in her litter were tested and all received prize Is with an average score over 110 pts. Tater also ran in the VHDF Advanced Hunting Aptitude (AHAE) where she performed very well in the ability subjects, where she scored 10s in Field Search, Pointing, Blind Water Entry, Search Behind Duck, and Nose. Tater also scored a 186/II in the NAVHDA utility test, only missing a prize I due to steadiness in the field.

Like most of our dogs, even though Tater is a high powered hunting dog, she is still a very calm, affectionate dog around the house. She is a wonderful family companion that is great with our children and with other dogs. Tater's three previous litters have all earned NAVHDA Breeder Awards with 18 puppies averaging 106 points. Three of her offspring have also passed the utility test with two prize Is and a prize II. One male received a UT prize I at 18 months old.

Duke is a very talented male owned by Matt Solt of Salt Lake City, Utah. Matt is a hardcore wild bird hunter and has a high standard in the dogs that he keeps, and Duke lives up to those lofty expectations as a great meat dog. Aside from being a great hunting dog, Duke is only one of three dogs the breed has ever seen that has earned both an AKC horseback field trial champion and a NAVHDA Utility prize I. One of the other two dogs to do this was his dam, Annie (VC FC AFC Wired West Sure Shot Oakley NA I, UT I). These are the type of dogs we are after - strong versatile hunting dogs on land and water, with the run, style, and horsepower to compete in all-breed competition. Duke's grandsire, VC McNally's Calahoo UT I, was a full sibling to our Allie (McNally's Super Ali NA I, UT I), who was one of the best dogs that we ever owned. Allie was the dam of some of our best dogs, including Max (Bone Point's Magnus NA I, UT I). Throw in that Duke's sire is a 2X National Field Champion, and his grandsire was a 3X National Field Champion, and you have one very talented dog with a pedigree to back it up.

Harley is one of our young, upcoming females that is proving to be a very special dog. She is virtually a clone of her dam, Allie, who was one of our favorite all-time wirehairs - as both an amazing hunting dog and family companion. I finished the 2015/2016 hunting season shooting my limit of chukars over Harley.

Harley is one of those big motor dogs. Whether it is in the field or water, she has an extra gear that most dogs just don't have. She simply wants to find birds a little more and is willing to run a little farther, or dig a little deeper to produce them.

As high-powered as Harley is as a hunting dog, you would never know it around the house. Her dam was the same way. She is a great family dog and a real sweetheart with the family and around the house.

Harley is out of one of our most successful breedings out of Luke and Allie. This cross really combined to bring out the best of both parents in their offspring. Luke is owned by Jeff Funke of Three Devils kennel and he has produced several very talented puppies for us.

Six of Harley's previous puppies have been NAVHDA Natural Ability tested, scoring an average of 104.5 points. One son also received a utility prize I at 2.8 years old.

Hilde (background), and her dam Lola (foreground)

--------

Jim, Lola (Hilde's dam), and Hilde after a successful Mearns hunt in Arizona.

Hilde is a 3rd generation Bone Point wirehair owned by good friends Jim and Pat Pease of Bend, OR. Jim owned and trained Hilde's granddam Frida (Bone Point's Dark Star NA I, UT I), Hilde's dam Lola (Bone Point's Indigo NA I, UT II), and Hilde, too. All three females have been exceptional hunting dogs, house dogs, and successful in testing, too. Jim hunts hard from October to February from Oregon, to South Dakota, and Arizona and his dogs spend more days in the field in a year than many will see in a lifetime.

Hilde was Jim's pick from Lola's last litter and she has turned out to be a fantastic dog. Hilde is a great bird finder, is honest on point, and is a natural backer that works hard at a medium gun range, typically 200-300 yards in open country. She scored a maximum score in the NAVHDA natural ability test, and a maximum score in the utility test on her first attempt as a 2 year old. We are looking forward to Hilde's first litter.
